Mr. Alter started GTS in 1985 as a distributor of call accounting systems. GTS merged with Xiox Corporation in 1994, although in late 1995, Alter reformed GTS and bought back the customer base and other assets. Over its 22 years of existence, Alter has led GTS in selling thousands of telecommunication solutions to hotels throughout the United States. Alter's career began at age 16 when he helped program the first call accounting system. He also held programming positions at Telogic, Microdata, Pick & Associates and Bitek and was a marketing engineer for Hewlett Packard. In 1982, he rejoined Bitek selling call accounting systems and in 1983, became Western Regional Manager for Summa Four and sold over $3M of call accounting systems to hotels and businesses. Alter received a BS - Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC, Berkeley.
