Richard Barbercheck joined First Financial Bancorp in 2005 and took on responsibility for the risk management function. In July of 2006, he transferred to the position of chief credit officer.
Before joining First Financial, Barbercheck was with Irwin Financial Corporation in Columbus, Indiana, where he managed their credit risk evaluation group. He has a total of 24 years of banking experience, including commercial lending and credit administration. He also served as president of a small bank in Indiana from 1988 until 1993.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Barbercheck earned his master's degree at Purdue Universitry. In addition to completing the Graduate School of Banking, he is a graduate of the Agricultural Bankers School and now serves on its teaching staff. He is a member of the Risk Management Association and the Indiana Bankers Association and has served on the loan committee for the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation, chaired the Industrial Park Commission for the Batesville Economic Development Committee, and has served on the boards of the Batesville Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Agricultural Development Corporation.
A resident of Columbus, Indiana, he is an assistant scoutmaster and has been a member of the men's choir at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. He and his wife Teresa have five children. |
