Richard Beedenbender
President, Embarcadero Systems Corporation
Richard Beedenbender joined ESC in 2006 following four years at Descartes/NeoModal, a global provider of logistics and supply chain management solutions. Beedenbender co-founded NeoModal, leading the development and implementation of innovative transportation and logistics services that created cost savings/operating efficiencies of 15-20 percent. As Senior Vice President of Descartes Ocean, he was responsible for integrating two acquired subsidiaries (including NeoModal), developing a comprehensive product line, establishing branding and market awareness, and acquiring new customers.
Prior to Descartes/NeoModal, Beedenbender worked for 25 years at Sea-Land Service, the pioneer of global containerized transportation and logistics. Starting as Director Business Planning and Development, Mr. Beedenbender held a variety of senior management positions including: Vice President, Information Systems, Vice President Atlantic Division, Vice President, Americas Division, and finally Vice President, Network Management.
During his tenure at Sea-Land, Beedenbender gathered deep business management, logistics, operations, and supply chain experience while overseeing the profitability of a $4 billion global transportation system, managing several profit centers, and developing an integrated operating system for the global enterprise.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Rutgers University and an MBA in management science from Pennsylvania State University.
As president of Embarcadero Systems Corporation, Richard Beedenbender is responsible for ESC global operations.
