Rich joined Steel Dynamics in 2004 as its first manager of ferrous resources. In this capacity, Rich established a team and a process for SDI�s direct procurement of steel scrap and other ferrous resources. This effort has been successful, with Rich leading a group that now sources steel scrap from more than 250 vendors and acquires about 5 million tons of ferrous resources each year. In January 2006, Rich was appointed vice president of ferrous resources and logistics.
Before joining SDI, Rich had more than 10 years� experience in the purchasing of ferrous metallics with the David L. Joseph Company, which sources steel scrap for numerous large steel companies. Rich earned a bachelor�s in business at the University of Missouri and served as an officer in the U.S. Army National Guard. |
