Richard is the senior partner in the McAllen office of Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P. Richard graduated from Pan American University in 1970 and received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1973. He is also a Non-Attorney Mediator.
EXPERIENCE
Richard Cortez heads the firm�s litigation support and business valuation department.
A practicing Certified Public Accountant for over thirty years, his practice has included accounting for small to medium-sized businesses, analyses of sales and acquisitions of existing businesses, feasibility analyses for new businesses, business valuations as well as income tax preparation and auditing.
He is a Non-Attorney Mediator and has served as a Court-Appointed Master in cases including partnership dispute and domestic issues. He regularly is asked to testify as a damage expert in federal and state courts, including matters of commercial litigation, personal injury, wrongful death and wrongful termination. Auditing
