Richard has more than 21 years experience in the development and commercialization of advanced technology products having spent the last 15 years in technical and management positions with start-up companies. Prior to joining Medcam Richard was the CEO and founder of Dot On, Inc., a company developing peripheral products for the consumer market. Earlier Richard served as Vice President of Engineering for Ioptics, Inc. a company developing advanced technologies for optical data storage systems. From 1993 to 1996 he was Director of Engineering for the University of Washington's Human Interface Technology Lab managing the Virtual Retinal Display project technology development program for Microvision, Inc. From 1992 to 1993 he was Vice President of Engineering for Virtual Vision, Inc. a manufacture of consumer and industrial display products. From 1989 to 1992 he was Director of Engineering for NeoPath, Inc. a developer of medical image analysis equipment. From 1984 to 1989 he was Chief Engineer for Delta Graphics, Inc. a producer of networked image generation systems. For the first six years after college Richard worked for the Boeing Company performing electronic and software design for various digital signal processing and computer image generation projects. He received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Richard has also taught graduate level classes at the University of Washington on computer architectures. |
