Richard J. Lunardi is vice president of strategic planning for Con-way Inc. (previously known as CNF Inc.) is a $4.2 billion transportation and logistics company with businesses in less-than-truckload motor carriage, truckload and brokerage services, logistics, warehousing, supply chain management and trailer manufacturing.
In this position, Mr. Lunardi is responsible for developing, refining and communicating corporate objectives and long-term strategy alternatives. He is also responsible for researching and analyzing opportunities germane to the long-term position of the corporation and its business units.
He has served in his current capacity since 2004 when he was promoted from director of strategic planning, a position he had held since 1994. He served as manager of business planning from 1992 to 1994.
Mr. Lunardi joined the CNF organization in 1988 as a competitor analyst. In that capacity, he monitored industry trends and competitor activities, developed market size and share statistics, and provided economic and general business information to senior management. He was promoted to manager of sales analysis for CF MotorFreight (CNF�s former long-haul trucking subsidiary) in 1990.
Prior to joining CNF, Mr. Lunardi was with the consulting division of Arthur Andersen that is now known as Accenture.
Mr. Lunardi is a member of the Conference Board�s Council of Strategic Planning Executives. He is a native of southern California and holds a bachelor�s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Lunardi is based at Con-way�s headquarters in San Mateo, CA. |
