Rich Marcello is a senior vice president of the corporation and serves as president of Systems and Technology. He was elected an officer by the Board of Directors in July 2007.
As president of Systems and Technology, he leads a team of experts who design and develop technologies, enterprise servers and related solutions that operate in mission-critical, transaction-intensive environments. In this role he is responsible for all aspects of the business including product development and technology, product marketing, supply chain operations and worldwide sales and services.
Prior to joining Unisys, Rich had many years of experience in building and leading world-class technology organizations with Hewlett Packard (HP), where he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Business Critical Servers product line within the Enterprise Storage and Servers global business unit. In this multi-billion dollar business, Rich was responsible for developing, manufacturing, selling and servicing Unix and high-end server technology systems, while successfully driving key account sales, leading advanced engineering groups and building a new business culture.
Rich began his career as a systems engineer and, prior to HP, held leadership roles in the technology business within Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Throughout his career, Rich has maintained a high level of contact, communication and coordination with customers and a commitment to developing mutually beneficial relationships. Holding customer relations as one of his highest priorities, Rich has been recognized both by U.S. News & World Report and USA Today for creating a new kind of dialogue with customers, industry observers, and employees through his executive blogging.
He holds a Master of Science in computer sciences from Boston University in Boston, and bachelors� degrees in business administration and electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
