Mr. Weerts grew up in Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Accounting from the Business College there, accompanied by a minor in computer science. After spending 4 years working with Deloitte and Touche, a "Big 8" public accounting firm, Richard started a stock options trading company. Life Options, LP conducted market-making trading operations on the trading floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange for 10 years. Richard Weerts has been involved in the online directory information business since 1996. Prior to founding 411XML in 2003, he was the COO of 555-1212.com, Inc., a subscription based consumer and small business online service for telephone company based directory assistance. Mr. Weerts works directly with all types of business customers and providers of directory data, including XML Web Services, batch, and custom HTML interfaces. In addition, Richard has pioneered new services in the sales lead list business and creative new ways for businesses to manage their directory listings in publicly available databases. |
