Rick E. Music is Vice President, Enterprise Optimization, for Ashland Inc., overseeing the company�s efforts to optimize the performance of enterprise-wide business processes, systems and capabilities in achieving operational effectiveness.
Mr. Music joined Ashland in 1973 in the company's technical/engineering area and was promoted to project manager business development in 1980. He became senior business analyst in 1985 and was promoted to executive assistant to the president of Ashland Inc. in 1988. He served the former SuperAmerica as that division's Administrative Vice President from 1991 through 1998. From 1999 until October 2002, Music held the position of Vice President, Finance for Valvoline. Prior to his current role, Music served as vice president, business process redesign, since November of 2002.
Mr. Music received an associate science degree from the University of Kentucky in 1975, a business degree from Ohio University in 1979 and an MBA from Morehead State University in 1987. In 1989, he completed Ashland�s Management Development Program at the Indiana University Graduate School of Business. |
