Rick Bethel is Executive Vice President of Environmental Risk Solutions based in the Corporate Headquarters in Cincinnati. He provides the lead on technical and compliance input for assessing cost, technical feasibility, scheduling and strategy for projects requiring mitigation of an environmental liability. Prior to joining Environmental Risk Solutions, Mr. Bethel performed in a similar capacity with Pollution Risk Services. Mr. Bethel has over eighteen years of environmental consulting experience including development of technical and regulatory expertise in CERCLA, RCRA, VAP, BUSTR and other environmental programs. Has also has served as the Principal/Senior Geologist and Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Conestoga Rovers & Associates, NUS Corporation and Atlantic Richfield Corporation. Mr. Bethel has worked on numerous projects for a variety of Fortune 500 clients, United States Environmental Protection Agency Superfund projects and Department of Defense (Air Force) Installation Restoration Program projects. He has successfully dealt with state regulatory agencies in twenty states and six USEPA regions, managed and participated in a variety of environmental and exploration projects in twenty states and three foreign countries. Mr. Bethel has managed single projects valued at more than $30 million and requiring the resources of more than one hundred people. Mr. Bethel received his Master of Science in Geology from Ohio State University and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Chemistry & Geology from Wittenberg University. In addition he has completed course work toward a Master of Science degree in Public Works Engineering and Administration at the University of Pittsburgh.
