Rick Boyko, former Chief Creative Officer and Co-President of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, Inc., joined the Virginia Commonwealth University Adcenter on July 1, 2003 as its managing director. In addition to teaching, he is responsible for financial and personnel management, as well as fundraising and outreach to individuals and firms in the advertising industry. In the two years since Rick has become its director, the Adcenter has evolved its curriculum to include, in addition to Art Direction, Copywriting and Strategic Planning, two new tracks: Creative Media Planning and Creative Brand Management. In 2005, the Adcenter was ranked the #1 graduate advertising program in the country by Advertising Age's Creativity magazine. The Adcenter was ranked #1 in all three categories: innovation, program quality, and graduate quality.Rick has reached out and received real assignments for Adcenter students from companies such as Martha Stewart Living, The Learning Channel, Tourism Industry of America, Business for Diplomatic Action, JWT, Newspaper Association of America, AICP and Virginia Tourism. |
