Rick Crandall is a director of and advisor to a number of public and private companies. Since 1995 he has chaired the Company Software Roundtable, which consists of CEOs or COOs of the industry�s top 36 software firms. He is also the software and services advisor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, actively assisting with legal reform and advocacy efforts related to government actions that affect U.S. technology industries. Between 1995 and 2003, Mr. Crandall helped create Giga Information Group, one of the country�s premier information technology research and advisory firms for Fortune 1000 companies, and served as Giga�s chairman until it was sold to Forrester Research in 2003. He has also been active in the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) for more than 20 years. Prior to his many board and advisory activities, Mr. Crandall spent 28 years as CEO of Comshare, a pioneer of computer time-sharing software and services, which he founded in 1966. During his tenure, Comshare grew to $130 million in revenue and expanded into 15 countries. Mr. Crandall is on the boards of directors of Diebold, Pelstar LLC, Comshare, and Tacit Knowledge Systems. He serves on the executive advisory board for Beacon I.T., the largest Japan-based company software vendor, and is senior advisor to Bryant Park Capital, a boutique New York investment bank specializing in financing and mergers and acquisitions for mid-market companies. In 1986 Mr. Crandall was selected as one of the five leading pioneers of the software and services industry by ICP Business Software Review, and in 1992 he was named Outstanding Entrepreneur by the University of Michigan Business School and Harvard Business School alumni groups. He received a BS in mathematics and a Masters in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan. |
