Rick Thomas has a career in the electric utility industry that spans more than two decades. Over the course of this career, he has held numerous positions that have given him extensive experience and leadership within the industry. Rick joined the North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC) in October of 1995 as Vice President of Finance. He then served as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Services and Chief Operating Officer. In this position, Rick was responsible for the day-to-day operations of NCEMC in areas of finance, power supply, information technology and strategic planning. Rick was then promoted to Assistant General Manager, serving as second in command to the CEO. Rick was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of NCEMC in July of 2006, where he currently serves.
Prior to joining NCEMC, Rick was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative located in Longview, Texas. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and has developed considerable expertise in corporate management and business systems strategies. Rick has extensive knowledge and experience in working with auditing and business systems. He was an instructor of general accounting courses at Angelina Junior College located in Lufkin, Texas.

Rick is a native of Nacogdoches, Texas. He received a bachelor�s degree of Business Administration and a master�s degree of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Rick and his wife Suzanne have five children and reside in Wake Forest, N.C. |
