Rick Thompson enters his first season with the Dolphins after spending the past seven seasons (2000-06) as the College Scouting Coordinator with the New Orleans Saints.
Thompson brings with him 32 years of NFL experience, a bulk of which was spent with the Seattle Seahawks. He was an original member of that team�s staff, having started with the club as an assistant in the player personnel department in 1975. He was promoted to assistant director of player personnel in 1984, and then assistant football operations director in 1998. He was an area scout with the team in 1999. In addition, he served as the club�s training camp director from 1978-98.
Thompson earned his degree in sports administration from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. As an undergraduate, he worked on a part-time basis for five years with the Minnesota Vikings. Thompson and his wife, Kathy, have a daughter, Kacie, and a son, Nick. |
