Ms. Isnar conducts policy and regulatory research analysis focusing on regulatory compliance issues. She conducts compliance program evaluations for various health care organizations. She also works with clients to help them develop, review, improve, and implement operations particularly in relation to the following regulatory areas: Part D Compliance Program Development and Implementation, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, Stark Laws, False Claims and Anti-Kickback regulations. She works with clients by providing assistance in defining effective internal controls pursuant to each organization's current and future needs. She also provides information to clients and executive management to help develop existing and planned business lines, perform due diligence, and further clients' efforts and strategies to improve compliance. Ms. Isnar is a member of the SM's regulatory team and has been heavily involved in the creation of a variety of auditing and monitoring tools. Additionally, she provides support to client's evaluation and training efforts in variety of regulatory compliance areas. Ms. Isnar has presented at the North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, and has co-authored Sarbanes-Oxley Best Practices for Private and NonProfit Health Care Entities. She has also has published for industry and trade publications such as the American Health Lawyers Association. Prior to joining SM, Ms. Isnar's regulatory and compliance experience in the health care industry includes interning at the New York State Office of the Attorney General in Syracuse, New York and working with a regulatory compliance firm to perform research and analysis on HIPAA related issues. Ms. Isnar received her Juris Doctor degree at Syracuse University College of Law, cum laude, and a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs focusing on health care, in 2002. She is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. In addition, Ms. Isnar received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Science from York University in 1999. |
