Rita Lane is senior vice president of Motorola's Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization, which encompasses the global operations associated with procurement, new product introduction, manufacturing, customer fulfillment and repair.
Lane joined Motorola as its chief procurement officer in June 2006. In that role, she is credited with successfully leading the procurement transformation and implementing enterprise-wide category and sourcing strategies and processes that support all of Motorola's businesses.
Lane has expertise in a wide array of critical supply-chain functional areas, including engineering, logistics, manufacturing operations, procurement, product development and quality. Based on her experience at Motorola and a 14-year career at IBM, where she held senior positions in their integrated supply chain, Lane is known as a leader in supply-chain transformation.
Prior to joining IBM, Lane was an officer in the United States Air Force, which included responsibilities in Titan electrical-systems and satellite-launch engineering. Earlier in her career, Lane owned and operated two small businesses.
Lane holds a master of business administration degree from the University of California, Berkeley; a master�s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University; and a bachelor�s degree in electrical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy. She serves on the board of directors for the National Minority Supplier Development Council and the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. |
