Roben is a Reality Check consultant. Roben was a former Vice President of Worldwide Artists and Repertoire at Bertelsmann Music Group, a multinational media conglomerate with offices in 40 countries. As co-chair of BMG's Global Music Committee, she determined creative strategic direction, product development and marketing - building global superstars N'Sync, Usher, Alicia Keys among others. In addition to her role as head of global creative, launching multinational marketing and promotions strategies, Roben also traveled the globe in search of pop culture, fashion and music trends. With over a decade of entertainment industry and trend analyst experience, she has held various senior management and marketing roles in both domestic and international markets. Her interest in consumer advertising was peaked when she consulted with Coca Cola to help them identify youth trends and rising music stars for global brand campaigns. Following this, she was also instrumental in developing music driven in-store promotions for U.S. clothing retailers such as GAP and Federated. Roben's knowledge and expertise in African American and global Pop culture has led to extensive work with CYResearch/Ameritest for clients such as MTV Networks focused on tapping into emerging trends and the young adult market. An innovative strategist, with keen market instincts, Roben is a dynamic researcher, moderator and trend specialist. Dubbed by fellow researchers "the Oprah of the focus room", her empathetic curiosity about people makes for very insightful and energetic focus groups. Roben is an alumna of Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. |
