Mr. Blakestad joined Apex Silver in November 2004. His 35-year career highlighted by discoveries of significant mineral deposits includes senior positions with major international mining companies such as Amax Gold Cyprus Amax Minerals and Homestake Mining Company. Immediately prior to joining Apex Silver he served as Chief Executive Officer of International Taurus Resources.Mr. Blakestad holds a B. Sc. in Mining Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and an M. Sc. in Geology from the University of Colorado. He is a Licensed Geologist in the State of Washington and Professional Geologist in the Province of Nova Scotia Canada. |
