Biographical Information:
Robert Bourne's practice focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration and related tax matters and fiduciary litigation. Prior to embarking on his legal career, Mr. Bourne served as a first lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. After law school at Harvard University and serving as an associate with Riker, Danzig & Marsh (now Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti) in Newark, New Jersey, he served as a staff attorney and as Acting Chief of the Administration of Justice Section at the United States Commission on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C.Mr. Bourne taught estate and tax planning at the Summit Area Community School for over 20 years and has served as an instructor for the New Jersey Skills and Methods Course in wills and estates. Currently Mr. Bourne is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law. He has also served as a trustee and president of Family Service Association of Summit, as trustee of the Summit Area YMCA, The Unitarian Church in Summit and the Reeves-Reed Arboretum and as General Campaign Chairman of the United Way of Summit and New Providence.
