Bob Murphy�s impressive credentials in the printing industry go back to 1965, when he started in Japs-Olson�s production department. He worked his way through various posts in the pressroom before moving on to a series of administrative and sales positions. He became President of the company in 1977, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1990.
Bob has long been active with industry trade associations. He has held 21 different leadership positions for the Printing Industry of America (PIA), and currently serves on its board of directors. One of the founders of the Printing Industry of Minnesota (PIM) in 1983, he has remained active in that group ever since.
Mr. Murphy was named PIM�s Outstanding Graphic Arts Leader in 1991 and in 1993 was inducted into the Printing Impressions/RIT Hall of Fame for his business accomplishments and leadership in industry trade associations. He was inducted into the Soderstrom Society in 1994 and received the 1998 Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Murphy enters the new millennium as the North American honoree of the PAF sponsored Graphic Arts Leaders of the Americas Hall of Fame. |
