Robert E. Smith, Knovel's Vice President of Information Technology, brings 18 years of technology experience to Knovel, where he is responsible for building and supporting the infrastructure that powers Knovel's online collection and advanced search capability.
Prior to Knovel, Smith was the Director of Enterprise Platform Services and Architecture for Harcourt Assessment, a member of the Reed Elsevier family of companies. He also worked for IBM's National Architecture & Technology Practice Center of Excellence and Eastman Kodak's Image Bank.
Smith holds an MS in Computer Information Systems and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Central Texas. He was certified as an IT Architect by IBM in 2001.
