Robert E. Sevier, MD is in the private practice of diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he is co-director of the Diabetes Treatment Program of the Moses Cone Health System. In addition, he is a past trustee of the hospital and directs the hospital's Foot Care Center. He is a member of numerous professional societies and associations, to include the American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and American Medical Association. Dr. Sevier currently serves as a member of the national Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association, and he has served on two national committees of United HealthCare.
Dr. Sevier received his MD degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Following his residency in Internal Medicine at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, he served four years as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps. He returned to complete a chief residency and endocrine fellowship at the UNC School of Medicine/North Carolina Memorial Hospital. He has been a clinical professor of medicine at the UNC School of Medicine since 1987.
