Mr. Mullen joined The Newark Group in 1984 as Assistant Superintendent of a paper machine at our Haverhill Paperboard Mill. From 1984 to 1989, Mr. Mullen held various positions of increasing responsibility within our sales and operational organizations. In 1989, Mr. Mullen was appointed President of BCI and, in 1993, assumed responsibility for our Newark Paperboard Products Division. He served as Chief Operating Officer from March 1996 to August 2004 and became President in December 2002. In August 2004, Mr. Mullen was named Chief Executive Officer. In July 2005, Mr. Mullen was named Chairman of the Board. Mr. Mullen graduated from Upsala College in 1977 with a B.A. in Philosophy and Physics. In 1984 he received an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University Business School. Mr. Mullen is a member of the Regulatory Policy Committee of the AF&PA. Mr. Mullen is the son of Edward K. Mullen, our Vice Chairman and principal stockholder. |
