J. Robert Hanlon, Jr. is a partner of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP and a member of the firm's Real Estate and Banking Law Group working primarily in the practice areas of real estate acquisition and development, commercial lending, residential lending, tax assessment appeals, municipal zoning and zoning litigation. Mr. Hanlon coordinates the firm�s title agencies with Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation and Chicago Title Insurance Company. In 1973, Mr. Hanlon received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Economics from St. Vincent College and a Master�s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975. Following completion of his Master�s Degree, he was employed for twelve years as a Regional Planner on the staff of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning Commission (SPRPC). Mr. Hanlon received his Juris Doctor Degree from The Duquesne University School of Law in 1986. While at Duquesne University, he served as a staff member on the Duquesne Law Review, publishing a case note on a Pennsylvania Supreme Court exclusionary zoning decision. As part of Duquesne�s Honor Legal Clinic Program, Mr. Hanlon served as a law clerk to the Honorable David W. Craig of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.Mr. Hanlon has conducted several seminars on airport zoning regulations for the SPRPC; presented a paper on airport zoning at the Sixth Annual Pennsylvania Aviation Conference; and has written a chapter on Airport Zoning Ordinances for the Airport Manager�s Handbook published by the SPRPC. Mr. Hanlon has also conducted CLE programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on both the residential and commercial loan process.Recently, Mr. Hanlon has become "SBA 504 Loan Closing Certified" by the National Association of Development Companies and has also closed SBA 7A loans.Mr. Hanlon is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. Currently, Mr. Hanlon is a member of the Mortgage Bankers� Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania and a member of the National Association of Development Companies. He serves the Pennsylvania Bar Association as the Chair Person of the Legal Services to Persons with Disabilities Committee. |
