Bob is a principal and consulting actuary in Milliman�s New York office. He joined the firm in 1987.
Experience
Bob has significant experience on a wide range of property and casualty consulting projects. His areas of expertise include pricing, loss reserving, and financial modeling for multi-national insurers, reinsurers, and self-insurers. He has been the lead consultant on many large, firm-wide client assignments often involving multiple currencies/languages and the management of dozens of consultants.
Bob has particular expertise in understanding the cost drivers associated with state workers' compensation systems throughout the U.S. and has specific expertise on the issues surrounding New York, Florida, Texas, and California. Bob was Milliman�s lead consultant in advising New York state with its 2007 workers� compensation reform. Bob�s involvement in the workers� compensation self-insurance market includes pricing and loss reserving for school boards, municipalities, the heating industry, the home healthcare industry, and the construction industry.
Bob often leads Milliman�s efforts as project manager on loss reserving and due diligence financing transactions for multi-national insurers operating throughout North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. This also includes major reinsurance loss reserving assignments for reinsurance companies operating in the U.S., Bermuda, London, and European markets.
Bob also assists clients in their efforts to form property and casualty insurance companies, providing advice on loss reserving, reserve variability, capital considerations, rate structures, and reinsurance programs.

Bob is often asked to speak at industry-sponsored seminars on topics involving loss reserving for reinsurers and workers� compensation issues as well as before state insurance departments, workers� compensation boards and commissions, employer groups, his actuarial colleagues, and the investment community.
