Mr. Siverd has been Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of General Cable since July 1994.
Mr. Siverd began his career as associate counsel with the law firm of Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine of New York City in 1973. While there, Mr. Siverd had responsibility for a wide variety of litigation matters ranging from antitrust and product liability to securities litigation and trade association affairs for national trade associations and professional societies. In 1983, he joined The Penn Central Corporation, a multi-industry conglomerate as litigation counsel and was elected Vice President-Litigation in 1986. After that time, Siverd diversified his legal experience to include general corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions and real estate matters, and he became Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of General Cable in 1992.
Mr. Siverd holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University and a Jurist Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
