Bob practices in the area of taxation, with an emphasis on estate and gift planning, qualified benefit plans, small and medium-sized business planning, and IRS controversy resolution.
He joined Decosimo in 1995, where he uses his legal background and research talents to perform complicated income tax and estate planning projects for closely-held businesses and high-income individuals. The main thrust of his practice involves maximizing current benefits and opportunities under the tax laws, while minimizing IRS exposure for high-income businesses and individuals.
Mr. Wheat graduated from the University of Tennessee with degrees in Business Administration and Law. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Tennessee, and a licensed attorney admitted to practice in Tennessee, the United States district courts and the United States Tax Court. He is director of The Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga and a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Chattanooga Bar Association. Bob is also past president of the Chattanooga Tax Practitioners and a past chapter director and State Council member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. He speaks frequently on various aspects of income tax, retirement and estate tax planning.
Bob is a member of the Chattanooga Kiwanis Club and the Christian Businessmen�s Committee of Chattanooga. He is past treasurer of Signal Centers, a local non-profit organization serving disadvantaged children and adults. He resides in Chattanooga with his wife Renee. |
