Robert "Bard" L. Richmond is the Chairman of the Robert L. Richmond Foundation. Recently, Bard was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Active Voice Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of PC-based voice processing systems. A pioneer in the voice processing industry, Bard built Active Voice from a small, three-person operation into a 400 employee public company that won numerous industry awards. Active Voice was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2001. In 1994, Bard was named the "Northwest Software Entrepreneur of the Year" and in 1990, Teleconnect Magazine named him the "Telecom Person of the Year". In 1999, he was awarded the Presidential Service Award by President Clinton for his work with Community Technology Institute (Community Voice Mail). Bard is also a director of Streamzap, Inc. Bard graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. with a degree in computer science and engineering. |
