Rob Shaughnessys practice focuses upon business litigation, pre-trial law and motion, civil writs and appeals. Robs focus on these specific areas of practice is due, in large part, to his experience as a superior court staff attorney prior to joining the firm in 1998.
Rob chairs the firms "Appellate Practice Group." Together with the rest of this group, Rob now represents the firms clients in civil appeals and civil writ proceedings. To maintain his skills as an appellate advocate, Rob belongs to both local and national professional appellate practice organizations, which are made up of appellate lawyers and appellate court justices. Rob believes that an effective appellate practice group is vital to the firms continuing goal of efficiently meeting all of the clients legal needs.
Rob received his B.A. cum laude from the California State University at San Bernardino in 1990, and received his J.D. degree from California Western School of Law in 1994. He is the author of several articles on various legal topics including the unauthorized practice of law, malicious prosecution, the Unfair Competition Law, and Californias Anti-SLAPP statute. Outside of the law office, Rob is an active member of the downtown San Diego Kiwanis Club.
Rob is admitted to practice in California, before the United States Southern and Central District Courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
