Bob Harkey concentrates his focus on airline-related legal matters. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, he was Senior Vice President - General Counsel and Secretary for Delta Air Lines, Inc.
After practicing privately, he joined Delta's legal staff in 1968 as Attorney and was elevated to General Attorney in 1974. He held numerous positions of increasing responsibilities within the company and was named Vice President - General Counsel in 1988, Senior Vice President - General Counsel in 1990 and Senior Vice President - General Counsel and Secretary in 1994. He retired from Delta on December 31, 2003.
Bob is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (former Chairman of the Corporate Counsel Section), the Atlanta and American Bar Associations, the ABA Committee of Corporate General Counsels and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries. He is Chair of the Board of CHRIS Kids, Inc., an organization that provides support to abused children, and a member of the Board of Advisors of the Emory Medical School. He is also a past member of the Emory University Board of Visitors, the Emory Law School Council, the Board of Trustees of the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta and the Law Council of the Air Transport Association of America of which he is a former chairman.
Bob served as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve Law Company in Atlanta from 1967 to 1979.
