Robert S. Kerbel Ph.D. is known internationally for his research into cancer metastasis drug resistance and tumor angiogenesis. He is a senior scientist as well as the Canada Research Chair in Molecular Medicine at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and Professor of the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. He is the author of more than 270 scientific papers and the recipient of numerous scientific awards. Dr. Kerbel serves on the editorial boards of many scientific journals including Cancer Research Clinical Cancer Research Molecular Cancer Research and Angiogenesis. He was Editor-in-Chief of Cancer & Metastasis Reviews from 1991-2001. He currently serves as a member of OXiGENE's Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Kerbel received his B.S. from the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. in immunology from Queen's University. He was a post-doctoral fellow in cancer biology at the Chester Beatty Research Institute in London England. |
