Dr. Langer is a co-founder of Sontra and since 1998 has served on the Sontra board. Since 1979, Dr. Langer has been Germeshausen Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has written 760 articles and 420 abstracts in the medical and scientific fields. In addition, Dr. Langer has 500 issued or pending patents worldwide. Dr. Langer has received over 100 major awards including the Charles Stark Draper Prize from the National Academy of Engineering and the Lemelson-MIT Prize. Dr. Langer was elected to the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering in 1992. Dr. Langer also serves as a director of Wyeth and Boston Life Sciences. Dr. Langer received his B.S. from Cornell University in 1970 and his Ph.D. from MIT in 1974, both in chemical engineering. |
