Dr. Robert W. Haile is Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine, Director of the Genetic Epidemiology Program, and Associate Director for cause and prevention research at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Haile obtained his doctorate in epidemiology from UCLA. He then served as a visiting scientist at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in Oxford. He joined the faculty in the Department of Epidemiology at UCLA in 1982 and attained the rank of full professor before joining the Department of Preventive Medicine at USC in 1994
Dr. Haile is a recognized leader in the genetic epidemiology of cancer. He has served as a member of EDC2 (a review group at NCI) and the Board of Scientific Advisors at NCI and Chair of the Steering Committee for the international Colon Cancer Family Registry. He has over 140 publications in peer reviewed journals and ranks among the top faculty in the country in terms of NCI funding. Dr. Haile�s research focuses on the causes and prevention of colorectal and breast cancer, including a number of multi-institutional, international collaborative projects. |
