After more than 10 years leading the Georgia Institute of Technology�s efforts to become one of the premier research universities in the world, Bob now works with Lipman Hearne to provide strategic public relations planning for universities.Harty served as Executive Director, Institute Communications and Public Affairs, while at Georgia Tech. He provided strategic public relations counsel, crisis management, web design, video production, graphic design, speechwriting, photography, media relations, special events staging, and licensing and trademark management services to the campus. Bob also served as the main spokesperson for the Institute, and has appeared on camera and in print in such diverse media outlets as 60 Minutes, The New York Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, NBC Evening News, the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, and thousands of other broadcast, print, and web news outlets. During this tenure, the university steadily improved its news placements, audience positioning (as measured by systematic market research), student admissions, research funding, and private fundraising.Bob attended the American University in Washington, DC, the University of Rochester�s Simon School of Business, and received his bachelor�s and master�s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |
