Bob has been a practicing surgeon in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery for the last 28 years. His health care career has been highlighted by being founder of the Physician/Hospital Institute, serving as medical director of a 100-physician multi-specialty group practice, and serving as Chief of Staff of his hospital as well as trustee on the board of directors for the hospital and its system. Currently Bob is the managing partner of Quick Leonard Kieffer, International, a health care executive search firm.
Bob has served on the Illinois Hospital Association's Board of Directors, the American Hospital Association's Regional Policy Board, and now is a member of the American Hospital Association's Strategic Policy Planning Committee, and the AHA's Committee on Hospital and Medical Staff Governance. He is an advisory member to the New England Journal of Medicine on physician recruiting, and a fellow of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago.
Bob was the recipient of the 2002 Excellence in Service Award for Health Care by the Illinois Hospital Association.
Dr. Kuramoto received his B.A. and M.D. degrees from the University of Iowa and completed his specialty training at Indiana University. |
