Dr. Needlman is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, specializing in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. After graduating from Yale College with a BA in English literature, Dr. Needlman got his MD from Yale University School of Medicine, and completed his Pediatric residency and fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Boston University/Boston City Hospital. During his fellowship, he co-founded Reach Out and Read, along with Barry Zuckerman, Jean Nigro, and Kathleen MacLean. Dr. Needlman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and of Zero-to-Three, the National Center for Clinical Infant Programs. He has contributed chapters and articles to several pediatric textbooks and journals, has spoken widely on early learning and literacy, and is the author of Dr. Spock's Baby Basics, and co-author of Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care, both published by Pocket Books. |
