Robert has 16 years experience in the automotive business specialising in electronic controllers. His broad experience of electronic control systems covers engine management systems and the control of innovative transmission systems through to air suspension controllers and the challenging control and safety implications of steer-by-wire systems. In many cases, Robert has taken these control systems from concept through to successful delivery on production vehicles, including the Range Rover, Rolls Royce, Discovery, X5 and the latest generation BMW 5 and 7 series. Robert gained his experience through working with major OEMs and he spent 3 years in Munich working for BMW. He has also been involved with some of the automotive standards-setting committees such as MISRA and was involved in generating a number of best practice documents within BMW and Rover/Land Rover. His experience of both gasoline and diesel engine management systems combined with the knowledge of how these systems have to interact with an increasingly complex vehicle system architecture is invaluable to the development of the Dual-Fuel technology. |
