Rob Reeg was named Interim President, Global Technology and Operations in January 2008.
In this role, Mr. Reeg oversees MasterCard Worldwide's strategic processing platform, global network and quality of operations. Based at the Global Technology and Operations headquarters in St. Louis , MO , he also serves as a member of the company's Executive Committee and Management Council.
Rob continues to serve as Chief Technology Officer for MasterCard Worldwide. In this role, he is responsible for all computer operations, network engineering, technology architecture, database management, program management, and testing/software quality. Employees in Global Operations are located across the globe with major centers located in St. Louis , Purchase, Miami , Singapore , Brussels , Sydney , and Chennai. Prior to assuming this current role, he was responsible for systems development activities including: business requirements definition, program management, analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
Mr. Reeg was responsible for leading MasterCard's $160mm core processing systems reengineering effort. This multi-year effort was delivered on budget and on schedule and provides MasterCard with the leading payments processing platform in the industry. The processing platform is anchored by new clearing, authorization and settlement systems which greatly enhance business functionality while leveraging economies of scale. The globally deployed software and computer network processes over 25 billion payment card transactions annually and is responsible for the transfer of more than $1 trillion dollars between financial institutions each year.
Prior to joining MasterCard, Mr. Reeg held IT and business leadership positions with Sprint Corp., Cleveland Pneumatic, Totco Inc., and Conoco Inc.
Mr. Reeg serves on the Board of Directors for MMGTS, the University of Missouri-St. Louis Leadership Council , Washington University 's Professional Degree Programs Academic Advisory Board, and the United Way of Greater St. Louis' Technology Committee. In addition, he is the vice-chairman of Junior Achievement's Board of Directors. |
