Robert "Chip" Schooley, M.D. is Professor and Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases of the University of California, San Diego. He has served as Chair of the NIH's AIDS and Related Retrovirus 1 Study Section and as Chair of the Executive Committee of the NIAID's AIDS Clinical Trials Group. Dr. Schooley is currently a Member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; American Society for Clinical Investigation; American Society for Microbiology; Clinical immunology Society; and Association of American Physicians and is a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America. Dr. Schooley received his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and his postdoctoral training at the NIH and Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University. Dr. Schooley is a leading AIDS clinical investigator with the principal responsibility for the ACTG's design and coordination of AIDS clinical trials in the United States. |
