Robert Urwiler founded CIO Now following a successful twenty year career in corporate Information Technology management. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and CIO of Macromedia, a $500M software company based in San Francisco, through their successful acquisition by Adobe Systems. At Macromedia, Robert was responsible for all aspects of Information Technology and Customer Support including global product hosting, eCommerce platform development, macromedia.com, ERP, CRM, and Business Analytics as well as global IT Operations and Network management.Prior to Macromedia, Robert was Senior Vice President and CIO at Peregrine Systems (since acquired by HP), a global software company which peaked at over $400M in annual revenue. At Peregrine, he gained extensive experience with the unique IT challenges associated with an aggressive acquisition-based corporate growth strategy. In addition to IT, Robert also led the global facilities management and security functions for the company.Preceding Peregrine, Robert served in IT leadership roles at Scientific-Atlanta, Sprint, and was an IT management consultant at Price Waterhouse (since acquired by IBM).Throughout his career, Robert has distinguished himself as a strategic and proactive IT leader with a solid reputation for results through management excellence. He has led teams of over 200 professionals and budgets in excess of $50M annually. Robert is also an experienced public speaker and published author.Robert holds a Masters degree in Technology Management from Mercer University and a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University. He is a member of The CIO Collective, The Council of Communications Advisors, and The Society for Information Management. Robert currently resides in Southern California. |
