Roberto C. Quinones-Rivera is a Capital Member of the Firm, and Vice-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group. He is also Chair of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Practice Area, Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Area, and is a member of the Firm's Pro Bono Committee.
Practice and Experience
Mr. Quinones-Rivera practiced commercial litigation with major firms in New York and Boston from 1990 to 1996. He joined McConnell Valdes in 1996. He has focused on Intellectual Property and Antitrust matters, including litigation and counseling on trademark, domain name and copyright matters and defense of antitrust class actions. He also has successfully represented defendants in class actions under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, the Truth in Lending Act and Puerto Rico statutes.
From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Quinones-Rivera was an associate with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York. In 1992, he joined Goulston & Storrs in Boston, Massachusetts. From 1994 to 1996, he was an associate with Choate, Hall & Stewart, in Boston.
Mr. Quinones-Rivera was Chair of McConnell Valdes' Professional Development Committee from 2002 to 2006. During his tenure, the firm adopted formal Professional Development as well as Supervision and Mentoring Programs.
Education
Mr. Quinones-Rivera received his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, where he was Managing Editor of the Yale Journal of International Law. He obtained his A.B., summa cum laude, from Rollins College.

Mr. Quinones-Rivera is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico, New York and Massachusetts. He also is admitted in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Districts of Puerto Rico and Massachusetts and the Southern District of New York.
