Ms. Lewis is a Shareholder and a member of the Natural Resources and Litigation groups. She practices in the areas of environmental law, land use, real estate, condemnation and construction defect litigation. Ms. Lewis has significant experience representing individuals and businesses in state and federal courts, before administrative tribunals, arbitration panels and in mediations. As a former law clerk to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Ms. Lewis brings to her trial and appellate practice a strong background in legal research and writing. Her accomplishments include defending a municipality in an inverse condemnation action that was dismissed on a motion for summary judgment. She has successfully defended a public utility district in a writ of mandate challenge to the district's award of a public contract, resulting in a denial of writ of mandamus. Ms. Lewis has defended a municipality in a Brown Act case, resulting in a denial of writ of mandamus. She has litigated cases involving a CERCLA claim brought by the United States for the remediation of a landfill in the South Tahoe Basin. She has also represented individuals in real property transaction disputes, conducted business litigation cases involving partnership disputes and represented property owners and public entities in condemnation cases. |
