Robin Freestone, 47, joined Pearson in 2004 as deputy chief financial officer and became chief financial officer in June 2006. He sits on the Pearson Board and is a member of the Pearson Management Committee.
Robin was group financial controller for Amersham plc (now part of GE) and a member of the Amersham group management committee, having joined Amersham as chief financial officer of their health business in 2000. Prior to that he held a number of senior financial positions in the chemical industry with ICI, Zeneca and latterly, for Henkel UK from 1995-2000. He is an economics graduate from Manchester University and qualified as a chartered accountant with Touche Ross (now part of Deloitte). |
