Rod Harris began the role of Director of Operations for Aleut Global Solutions in April of 2007 after serving as the Purchasing Manager since 1999 for Space Mark and SMI International and the newly formed Aleut Management Services. Mr. Harris brings years of experience in business management, logistics and procurement to AGS. He started with Space Mark in 1993, on their second project award, Galena AFS, Alaska as the Project Coordinator. He was promoted to the Business Systems Manager overseeing the five projects in Alaska for logistics and procurement issues. He was transferred to Colorado Springs in 1998 and assumed the position of Business Manager for Space Mark Telecommunications. In 1999 he was selected to work at the Corporate Office where he wrote the procurement standards for the ISO 9000 program to assist Space Mark in being awarded the ISO 9000 certification. Mr. Harris�s 39 years of management, supervisory and staff experience also includes, Small Business Liaison Officer, Property and Asset Control, Facility Manager, ISO Auditor/Trainer and Purchasing. Prior to coming to Space Mark, Mr. Harris was the Human Resource Manager for the Department of Corrections for the State of Alaska. Mr. Harris also brings 25 years of Air Force experience in the IG office, budget, facilities, manpower and personnel, aircraft maintenance, combat plans, mobility and logistics. Mr. Harris holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in International Supply Chain Management from Atlantic International University, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Wayland Baptist University. He is a Certified Purchasing Professional, (CPP); Certified Purchasing Professional Manager (CPPM); and Certified International Supply Chain Manager, (CISCM). He is a member of American Purchasing Society as a lifetime member. |
