Mr. Young was the President and CEO of Vivant Medical, Inc, which was sold to Tyco Healthcare in June 2005, and has spent more than 15 years in the life science sector, both founding and leading companies. Prior to Vivant he was the President and CEO of Targesome, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company in Palo Alto, California that he helped found in 1998. Mr. Young was also a Co-Founder and Director of MCT Medical, which merged with Vivant Medical in 1999. Prior to this, he was President and CEO of General Surgical Innovations, Inc. (GSI), a surgical device company that completed an initial public offering in 1996 and was sold to Tyco International (U.S. Surgical) in 1999. He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. |
