Rodrigo Bitar joined Athelera in June 2003 as a Managing Director. He has worked on a wide range of industries including retail, technology, banking, food and real estate. Rodrigo has advised on mergers and acquisitions transactions across Latin America, working with multinational clients like IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Ambev, Hasbro and Wendy�s. Rodrigo has also worked with important family groups in the region including Grupo Cisneros, Almacenes Exito, Grupo Benavides and Grupo Blohm, executing transactions like the sale of Farmacias Benavides, the largest retail pharmacy chain in Mexico, to Farmacias Ahumada, the largest chain in South America. From 1999 to 2003, Rodrigo Bitar was a Vice President of Violy, Byorum & Partners, working on cross-border M&A transactions. Rodrigo also participated in the establishment of a Latin America focused Private Equity fund structured as a partnership with CDP, the largest pension fund of Canada. Rodrigo additionally acted as one of the lead bankers of VB&P�s technology practice both in advisory assignments and in principal activities. In 1998, Rodrigo was a summer Associate at BT Alex.Brown�s Real Estate group in New York. From 1990 to 1997, Rodrigo successfully managed a number of ventures in Chile including a Chile-based real estate investment fund, an educational foundation (Fundaci�n Mercator), and a national development foundation (Fundaci�n Regi�n y Desarrollo). Rodrigo successfully managed a campaign for a seat in the Senate of the Republic of Chile for Mr. Sergio Bitar and later acted as Chief of Staff for the Senator�s first year in office. Rodrigo holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Masters of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Chile, where he graduated with highest honors and received the Electrical Engineer of the Year Award. |
