Mr. Griffin is currently the Executve Vice President of Sonnenblick-Goldman Company�s Tokyo office. His responsibilities encompass origination, marketing and closing of debt and equity transactions with a strong emphasis on hotels and the international marketplace. Previously, Mr. Griffin was Senior Vice President of Horwath Hotel Partners in Hong Kong where his responsibilities included sourcing both buyers and capital for existing hotels and development projects. Prior to joining Horwath, he had spent 23 years at Chase Manhattan Bank, 16 years of which were spent in the Asia Pacific region. During his time at Chase Manhattan, Mr. Griffin was assigned as Branch Manager in Osaka, Japan, was Country Manager in Korea for 5 years and was Regional Manager in Hong Kong. Subsequently, Mr. Griffin was Senior Vice President of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) based in San Francisco for 5 years and then spent 18 months developing and asset managing hotel projects in Indonesia. With PATA, he was responsible for strategic issue management and market research in respect to the travel and tourism industry throughout the region and focused on the needs of the hotel, airline and tour operator segments and governments. Mr. Griffin is a graduate of Bristol University in England and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In addition, he is a member of the WTO (World Tourism Organisation) Business Council. |
