Roger Kaas has over 30 years of research and development experience in polymer materials, polymer processing and applications development for plastic materials. For over 20 years Dr. Kaas concentrated on the development of plastic packaging at Pechiney Plastic Packaging. While there, he developed a novel toothpaste tube manufacturing process and was part of the team that commercialized the first multilayer, high barrier, extrusion blow molded bottle in the United States. His last position at Pechiney was Director of Materials Development in the Flexible Packaging Division, where he was responsible for new polymer material applications in plastic packaging films. Dr. Kaas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Doctor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. Upon completion of his Doctoral degree, he joined the General Motors polymers and high temperature resistant polymers. Dr. Kaas, along with Russ Gehrke, formed Gehrke, Kaas & Associates, LLP, a consulting firm in the area of packaging and plastic technology. |
