Roland G. Gentzler serves as the vice president finance department and as company treasurer. In these roles, Gentzler is responsible for financial analysis, SEC reporting, risk management, cash management, tax, operations research and credit.
Gentzler started with the company in 1976 as an accountant in the Austin, Minn. plant. He was quickly moved to the position of manager of general accounting and claims in Fort Dodge, Iowa later in 1976. He was the office manager for the Dallas plant in 1980 as well as the office manager for the Ottumwa, Iowa plant. In 1987, Gentzler was promoted to supervisor of internal auditing at the corporate office in Austin, Minn. and in 1988, he was promoted to accounting manager for FDL Foods in Dubuque, Iowa. In 1993, Gentzler moved to accounting coordinator and in 1994, he was named the director of finance for FDL Foods. He moved back to the corporate office in 1995 as the manager of cost accounting. He was promoted to assistant controller in 2000 and was advanced to director of accounting for the refrigerated foods division later that same year. He was named to the position he currently holds in 2007.
Gentzler received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of South Dakota. He is originally from Norfolk, Neb. He currently serves as board president for the Austin YMCA and is a member in the Manufacturers Alliance Treasury Council and Minnesota Treasury Management Association. He also is a board member of Clougherty Packing, Precept Foods, LLC and Mountain Prairie, LLC. |
